LMU Softball Honors Four At
University’s Annual Athletics Banquet
HARROGATE,
TN –
Lincoln
Memorial University softball Head Coach Dan Burns
recognized his team and presented four members individual awards
at Tuesday night’s annual Athletics Banquet held on the LMU
campus.
After
finishing the season in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament
Semifinals on Friday afternoon and ending the year with a 32-16
record, the team’s Most Valuable Player and Offensive awards
went to Lady Railsplitter sophomore Sara Henn (Kettering, OH
former MV Xpess player).
A 5’7”
infielder/pitcher, Henn’s performance during the 2007-08 season
was stellar. Henn led the conference this season in hitting
this year with a .487 batting average, with 74 hits, 21 doubles,
13 homeruns and 57 runs batted in. For her efforts, Henn
received SAC Player of the Week honors once this season, First
Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors, and South Atlantic
Conference Player of the Year. Tuesday night’s MVP award may
not be the last accolade Henn receives this season, as she is a
candidate for the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Team, as
well as NFCA Division II All-American.
Henn Named LMU Female
Athlete Of The Year
HARROGATE,
TN –
Lincoln Memorial University softball infielder/pitcher Sara
Henn (Kettering, OH) was named LMU Female Athlete of the
Year by head coaches throughout the University’s athletics
department.
College Signings-Class of 2008
Nov. 20, 2007
Ashley
Boyd, the daughter of Jerry and Susan
Boyd signed a NLI Tuesday to
attend Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. Ashley
is a senior at Hamilton High School and pitched for the Xpress
College Tour this fall. She adapted quickly to the 43 foot
mounds and handled herself admirably against college competition
as one of our starting pitchers.

Also
this week Katie Wills will sign to play softball with the
Eagles of Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. Katie is the
daughter of Jeff and Kayla Wills and a senior at Mason High
School. Katie has played several positions including 3rd
base for the Xpress Gold and the Xpress College Tour. She
will be an impact player for the ASU Eagles. Congratulations to
Katie and to Coach Gulas and the ASU Eagles.

Megan Ryan signs with
Lincoln Memorial.
Megan
Nicole Ryan, is a 5’3” infielder/outfielder that comes to
the Lady Railsplitters from Hendersonville, Tennessee. A
standout at Hendersonville High School, Ryan was an All-MTSCA
Academic Team selection last year. Previously Megan began her
career at Springoro in Ohio before transferring to TN. She
continued to play for the Miami Valley Xpress travel team based
in Dayton Ohio, each summer even after transferring.
“Meagan is an outstanding infielder and hitter,” says
Burns.(LMU Coach) “She has speed to burn and is 2.8 seconds
from home to first. What I like is that she is also an
excellent defensive player which will allow her more time on the
field.” Ryan will major in kinesiology.
